Fun Filled Nights Out in Manchester

As a student, now is probably the best time in your life to be enjoying a good night out – although this thought has probably already occurred to you?

In this article we’re going to share with you a handful of night out ideas that will reconfirm that Manchester was a great choice of university city and generally a brilliant place to have a laugh with your friends.

Kicking things off at number 1:

  1. The Nightclubs and Bars

Manchester has a heaving night scene. It’s not just about cheap bars with sticky floors (there are plenty of those), but there’s also a wide range of high end bars. In fact, with the likes of The Ivy, Twenty Stories or even Cloud23 and several other big names, there’s really no limit to how high end you take the night.

If you’re wanting to keep it cheaper, we recommend the likes of 42’s or the BierKellar for some dancing on the table (but not chairs), style fun.

If you fancy something that’s anything but bog standard, why not head to The Temple, a creative transformation of a sub street level public toilet complete with a juke box. The place has a chilled out vibe and somehow manages to be dingy, yet at the same time as atmospheric. And no, it doesn’t smell bad!

  1. Indoor Crazy Golf

Holding a beer whilst playing crazy golf would probably get you kicked out of most crazy golf venues. Not here! At Junkyard Golf, there are multiple ‘pit stop’ bars as you progress your way around the junkyard themed courses. This is great for a laid back but somewhat competitive night out and the crazy golf is really elaborate.

  1. Bingo (Normal Bingo)

You’re probably thinking you’re too young (and you might be right). However, with a good group of friends this can be an enjoyable experience. If they’re not convinced, sell it as ironic. However, don’t be surprised if you find yourself gripped by the game as you get near a full house.

  1. Bongo’s Bingo

Unlike the traditional types of bingo halls, as mentioned in number 3. Bongo’s Bingo is, as they state themselves, ‘a crazy mix of traditional bingo, dance-offs, rave intervals, audience participation and countless magical moments’.

It sounds amazing and we can assure you, it is! If you haven’t heard of it before, look out for the next time it visits Manchester and get your tickets before they’re all gone! It does sell out.

  1. See a Gig

Since the days of the Hacienda (which as it happens is now a block of flats), Manchester has been a great spot for music. Nowadays you’ll catch the action at places like the 02 Ritz and Victoria Warehouse. The University is also a good venue for gigs, but then you probably knew that already?

We hope we’ve given you some inspiration for your next night out in Manchester, whether you’re a student, a tourist or a fully fledged Mancunian.
