I taught four lessons today. Two of these were first year grid references, the other two were second year settlement and fourth year trade and aid. All went reasonably well and it feels good to have managed four lessons in one day. I can definitely feel my learning from DGS being added to as I develop further.
This evening I accompanied 7 of the pupils and two of the staff to George Watsons School as we had entered two teams in the SAGT Worldwise Quiz. What a brilliant experience for all the kids involved. Craigmount High School won the qualifying round convincingly but faced tough competition in the final round from Stewart's Melville, George Watsons and Firhill. We still managed to come second though and therefore should qualify for the national event. It was also great fun as I met three of the other PGDE Geographers from Moray House who had come along with their schools.
Oh and thanks Ollie for the note about the nutty trade video. I had already spied it in the store room...but its good to have a recommendation that its useful.
