After several days of tough decision making I decided to tick the preference waiver box on my GTC application form. I finally decided that there was no guarantee of working in East Lothian or in Edinburgh and that a fantastic opportunity to do something different was right in front of me. I hope I get posted to a remote part of Scotland (the Orkney or Shetland Isles) but I really dont mind where I go. I can't wait. The prospect of adventure has made me really excited about the rest of this year and given me a long-term goal to aim for.
A quick mention now to Ollie, Suzanne and Colin who took me out for the departmental dinner last night. Thank you very much. It was great to catch up on the school gossip and have a chat about everything that has happened this week. I am looking forward to seeing everyone on wednesday for the staff christmas 'do'.
