The Next Curve Panel Debate

Thursday 8th June 2006

The panel consisted of Alan McCluskey (Swiss agency for ICT in Education and Chairman of the EUN Policy Innovation Committee), Dr Jerry Weast (Superintendent of Schools, Montgomery Country Public Schools, Maryland, USA) and was chaired by Carmel Gallagher (Curriculum Manager Northern Ireland).

Both panel members gave short presentations about their work and practice. I liked Alan’s opening slide ‘Thinking out of the box – but how big is the box.’ I often talk about thinking out of the box and have described it as one of my strength, however the more I think about it, I’m not sure I know what it is or what I really mean!

Following the presentation panel members accepted a few questions from the audience, which I thought they tackled quite well – although I also thought that the conversation started to drift off the point slightly.
