Rabbits and Subject Support Meetings

Friday 5th May 2006

Friday was the second subject support meeting of the year. The meeting was at Preston Lodge High School and we had a fairly short agenda. One of the main things that we agreed on was the need for some Advanced Higher Marking CPD. I will organise this for next session.

On the way to the meeting I picked up my sea kayak from my friends house near Haddington. It’s not been out on the water for about six months, but I needed it an Introduction to Sea kayaking course that I was running for Glenmore Lodge at the weekend. I tied the kayak onto my roof rack and headed off to Preston Lodge. As I was drinking I could hear a banding on the roof of the van. Assuming it was just the loose end of a roof rack strap I continued driving. After another 500 meters I decided that the noise was to annoying to continue. I got out of the van to look for the strap. To my surprise there were no straps but, despite being stopped, the noise continued. Then it dawned on me – there was something inside the kayak.

Carefully I untied the kayak and tipped it off the roof rack to my surprise I bunny rabbit jumped out of the boat and hopped into the bushes (you certainly don’t see that every day!).
