Funny Ring Tones

Tuesday 27th June 2006

All of my classes are very motivated at the moment and one of the supply teachers who was in covering for Colin commented that, ‘that was the best supply class I have ever taken’.

I’ve been trying to catch up on my making before the end of term. As I was marking some S3 test papers I listened to Guy Kawasaki recent audio recording of a panel he moderated for the Western Association of Venture Capitalists. The panel consisted of six students whose ages varied from fourteen to seventeen and the theme was trying to understand the market of young people. You can listen to the audio here. I thought the discussion was very interesting and I wonder if we could do a similar thing in East Lothian? We could Podcast the results or perhaps even get local radio involved? It was interesting to hear the young people talk about myspace, digital photography and mobile phones.

The other thing that I found really interesting in Guy’s post was some information on mobile phone ring tones that only young people can hear. He points to two further articles on the subject “Teens Wired...and Yes, It’s Ok” and “A New Ring Tone Teachers Can’t” you can download the ring tone here.

I remain intrigued if people can hear it or not? I can hear a high pitched noise (don’t think I would like it on my phone!) leave me a post if you can or can’t hear it!

that ring tone

I can hear it - amazing, given the years I spent rehearsing and playing live with a band!
