Notes for new bloggers
Until the user manual is completed, here are a few notes for the guidance of new bloggers.
- Your blog lives in its own folder. If you want to give it another title, email me and I'll change it.
- To creat a new blog entry, navigate to your blog folder and create a new 'Weblog' not a new article. The terminology is confusing, but it is important as it affects how your blog postings are stored in the database and displayed in the web page.
- Try to keep titles short. You don't need to include dates as these are added automatically.
- Don't feel you have to write something every day to justify the blog's existence. You only need to write when you have something to say, some point to make or something to share.
- You can create 'sub-blogs' within your blog folder. Probably. I haven't tried this out yet. Any volunteers? Update - I've now tried it, and you can!
