I'd like to get some idea about how schools catalogue resources. We currently have a folder which is updated manually when new books/CDs etc come in and I am currently transferring this onto a database. Who deals with resources in your school? How do you record what you have and what is used? Any suggestions/comments gratefully received!!

Marion Brown replied via email to my query about Resources as she can read forums but cannot post replies yet. She has a large database of all the resources at Prestonpans Education Centre which she has set up using Filemaker Pro 5.5. She asked me to post this reply on her behalf "I am very familiar with the way it works as I have been using it for years now. You will need some instruction about how to make it work for you. Do you think other admins would find it useful. It may be that I could arrange some form of training here at the Centre if enough folk are interested. However, as I said I cannot post anything on the Forum as yet so you might like to post something to this effect in the short term, asking folk to e-mail me if interested."
