Musselbugh Grammar School

There been a lot happening in the last couple of weeks which have prevented me getting to my blog and even catching up on the blogging of others.
I’ve been at NethyBridge on an S1 residential for nine days and then had two days away on the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Assessment. I really enjoyed both trips, particularly NethyBridge. It was really well organised and I got to work with some great people and motivated students.
The timetable has also played a huge part in the last few weeks. Looks like we finally have it sorted out and the first week went well. We are still experiencing some teething problems with the new S5 / S6 timetable, but this is manly to do with class lists rather than staffing.
What else… well my flats on the market, we are doing Thursday & Sunday viewings, we’ve bought a new house, my mums been to stay, had some detailed meeting about a new geography book (very exciting – more soon), S5/S6 exams, hurt my knee and had to cancel working for Glenmore Lodge, written my S3 reports and yesterday I was appointed Acting Deputy Head Teacher at Musselbugh Grammar School.
The rollercoaster of the last few weeks is just about over and hopefully things might get a little calmer towards the end of term. I will reflect on my experiences over the last two weeks soon but I need to pack for
XChange conference in Belfast – which is where I will be for the next three days.
I am looking forward to the new challenges that the post at Musselburgh will bring – more on this soon.
