First Week Back and Power Cuts

Home decorating has meant that I have been without Internet access at home for the last few days. My Wireless Mac is also playing up, although things are not as serious as Ewan’s computer problems (things can only get better Ewan!). We also had two power cuts in school on Tuesday 18th the second of which tripped the server on out floor and we were without access to the Internet and school network for three days. Luckily we have all of our resources backed up on CD / DVD but my weblog and backlog of email certainly suffered!

I had a visit from a Primary BEd Student on Wednesday after school to chat about ICT in the classroom. She had come across some example of good practice via my weblog. We were able to talk over a couple of ideas and take a few picture of ICT equipment including digital voting systems, GPS, PDA’s, Tablets, Video Camera’s etc. I am looking forward to reading he final essay (hopefully I’ll get a copy?).

Otherwise the week was quite quiet. Most of my classes were taken up with either revision lessons or assessments. I finished off the fair-trade work with my S1 class, which included some chocolate tasting and making a quick radio advert. I’ll write about this more in a separate post.
