Hi Folks, I hope you enjoy reading my blog. I've put together this page just to give you some background information about me, and how to get in touch.
Well, where to start? My Full name is Mark John Tennant. I (if you didn't already notice) teach Computing to the lovely pupils of Dunbar Grammar School ; something I consider to be a real honour. I am also the Subject Support Co-ordinator for Computing , which involves organising professional development opportunities for the computing teachers and spending central funding on materials and training to improve Computing as a subject across East Lothian.
I am a graduate of the University of Stirling , where I gained a Bachelor of Science degree, along with my Diploma in Education. Prior to teaching at Dunbar I was at Galashiels Academy in the Borders, where I served my probationary period. Going back even further into the mists of time, (when it were all fields round 'ere - oh, wait, it still is!) I was a pupil at Kelso High School .
When I get some free time I am a keen mountaineer and a member of the local Mountain Rescue Team in Kelso (where I live). While many would question the wisdom of volunteering to be raised from your bed by a beeper at 3 in the morning, the challenges and rewards are second to none. Last year I had the pleasure and challenge of becoming the first Emergency Medical Technician on the team, and have been involved in several life-threatening incidents which have been brought to a successful conclusion, learning vital lesons about teamwork and responsibility that would be impossible to imagine in a 9 to 5 job! If only it wasn't for that damned beeper...!!!
Now that I've told you a bit about myself, here's how to get in touch...
