Had a really useful markers meeting yesterday with Angela (PT History/Modern Studies) to enable me to wade through our recent S4 pre-prelim tests with confidence.

I have found marking assesment difficult to get to grips with because I found little opportunity to practice whilst on PGCE placements. The markers meeting enabled me to improve my own marking by comparing it with Angela's (an SQA marker). I reccomend getting comparative feedback and guidance on such an important area, especially with the prelims and reports coming up! We'll be scheduling in a markers meeting for every class test in the future.

Went through Enquiry Skills question practice with both my S4 classes this morning. Modelled structure on the OHP and then got them to complete the detail using the source. Then got them to mark each others papers, emphasising this wasn't an exercise in embarrasment! Some of the feedback they wrote on each others paper showed encouraging signs of understanding how to answer the question. Hopefully it will stick for their impending prelims!
