Holidays

Am on holiday now thank goodness, it seems to have been a long term and I could really do with a break. Was in school for the first couple of weeks tidying up and getting stuff ready for the new session in August. I couldnt post my blog for a few reasons. First of all the server was down most of the time and it took quite a while to get the fault resolved. IT said it was FES's fault ( facility management company that runs the school ) and FES said it was IT's problem. One of the days we had no phones and the electricity was at best intermittent. I dont want to sound unduly negative about the situation but its very difficult to get any work done when you are unsure if the electricity is going to be on or the computers are going to be working and all you get when you try and get the situation rectified is "its not my fault" from both of the involved parties. Support staff work in the schools during the holidays and I guess that my main gripe is that people often forget that. It would be nice to be given at least a little notice if the power, water or any other service is to be shut down fro a period over the holidays.
