Johnny Lloyd Vegas

“A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing.” (Oscar Wilde 1854 - 1900)
This is a quote I was hoping never to have to use but……….I was told by a friend that
Johnny Vegas had teamed up with cellist
Julian Lloyd Webber (yes, brother of) in a campaign to “get music back into schools.” This seemed so implausible that it had to be true and so I had to verify on the big electric magazine - aka
t'internet and there it was.
The salient point is “back” into schools. In my 24-year, blink-of-an-eye experience with Lothians’ schools, this is a mistake which has never had to be reversed. Every departing colleague has been replaced, every timetable more densely populated.
There was only one comment which I’d never yet heard. Lloyd Webber said of Vegas, who has been studying the ‘cello since October, "He has potential but hasn't been practising." Maybe it loses something in the translation.
So, what kinds of minds were responsible for the afore-hinted cutbacks? In electric magazine terms, click on back to top.
