What is a GEOCAST?
A GEOCAST is a Geography Revision Podcast designed by exc-el. Podcasting is a term used to describe a group of technologies for distributing audio or video programs over the Internet. You DO NOT need an Ipod or any Mp3 player to download a GEOCAST.
How does it work?
Simple. Select the area that you are interested in from the menu below and then follow the menus until you find a GEOCAST that you would like to listen to. Download the GEOCAST to your computer and listen to it as many time as you like.

What computer software will I need?
You will need some sort of media player to listen to your GEOCAST. Most computers come with a media player pre-installed (eg: Windows Media Player, Quicktime, Real Player & iTunes). There are two types of GEOCAST .m4v format or .mp3 format. .m4v GEOCASTS are designed to be opened in iTunes and contain visual content as well as audio content. .mp3 GEOCASTS contain just the audio content.
What is iTunes?
iTunes is a digital media player application, developed by Apple Computer, for playing and organizing digital music and video files. iTunes is compatible with computers running Mac OS X, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 operating systems. What is Quicktime?
Can I download my GEOCAST to an IPod or Mp3 player?
Yes, GEOCASTS have been designed to be downloaded to a portable music devices such as ipods and other Mp3 players. If you have an Apple Video ipod you can also download the video content of your GEOCAST to your ipod. Remember you DO NOT need an ipod or Mp3 player to watch or listen to your GEOCAST.
